OpenSubdiv smooth Mesh Preview Crash
Source:  Maya Station
Friday, 09 May 2014 13:22

**Update. This issue has been resolved in Maya 2015 SP2**

Maya 2015 may crash turning on Smooth Mesh Preview (3 key) for some meshes if the Subdivision Method is OpenSubdiv.

To avoid the crash either delete or rename the UV Set named ‘map11’, or change the Subdivision Method to Maya Catmull-Clark.

1. Select the mesh
2. Open the UV Set Editor. Create UV’s ->UV Set Editor
3. Select  the UV Set named “map11”
4. Delete or Rename

or

1. Select the mesh
2. Open the Attribute Editor for the mesh shape.
3. In the Smooth Mesh attributes change Subdivision Method to Maya Catmull-Clark

Thanks to QA for the tip on this!

Cheers!

Nelson

This is an illustration by Fictograph. I just love her work. There's so much effort put into it. I know this isn't digital art, but guess what, it's photograph of it which if you want to be technical, that could be considered digital. I am always updated on twitter with her drawings, so you're bound to see more. To make her work she uses copic markers and prismacolor pencils. If you want to see more of her art now you can look at her, deviantart, instagram,

Rainy Streets Art (Post 3)

This drawing is by John Pitre. Sorry, I dont really know the name of this one. What I really like about this one is, the mixture of colours in it. If the pinks, oranges and purples were left out of it, it would feel very cold and somber. With the girl looking right at you, you feel more connected. I just love the whole busy streets in the rain anyways, which is probably what draws me to this. If you would like to check out more of John Pitre's work, check out his website.

Real Snow White Art (Post 2)

This piece is by Jirka Väätäinen. This is one of the many real life Disney character that Väätäinen has done. This is obviously Snow White, if you've seen the movie you can see the resemblance. I just think it's so crazy how they make it look so real! They are personal works and have no connections for being created for Disney.

Jirka Väätäinen has gained a lot of attention for envisioning the in Real Life Disney girls. If you liked them make sure you check out Väätäinen's other art works, though his website ( jirkavinse.com ) Twitter ( @JirkaVinse ) facebook, or his other websites.

Landscape by Geoffroy Thoorens

I love this one. I think its a pretty respectable first post if you ask me. I just love this landscape, it just looks so beautiful and peaceful. Love the use of light greens to highlight the areas.
I'll probably post more by him, but if you'd like to see more of his stuff check out his website and deviantart site. His name for that is djahal.

Welcome! Bienvenue! Bienvenida! Selamat Datang! 欢迎! 歓迎! Fogadtatás! Herzlich Willkommen!

I know that is only a few of many, and also sorry is it is spelled wrong. But I am only human and know only two of those languages and I just used old trusty google translate. Though, in this situation language will not matting it will mostly be admiring the art!

Anyway, I will probably be using this, because I have nothing better to do with my time. Don't be suprised if I don't put stuff up all that often.

Do not touch, use your eyes only!
